Family Church Upward Basketball is a Christ-centered recreational basketball league where kids can learn the game, build character, and have fun in an encouraging environment.

New This Season: Middle School Basketball!

We’re excited to offer Upward Basketball for 6th–8th grade this season!

Quick League Details

• Who: Boys & girls, K3–8th grade
• Season: December 2026–February 2027
• First Practice: December 7
• First Games: January 8 & 9
• Final Games & End-of-Season Celebration: February 26 & 27
• Location: Family Church – Windermere Gym

Divisions: Players are divided by age and grade, with boys and girls in separate divisions.

Registration

• Early Registration: $165 through October 30
• Late Registration: $185 beginning October 31, if space is available
• Optional Basketball Shorts: $10
• Registration Deadline: November 13

Coaching Discount: Coaches receive a discounted registration rate. For more information, email sports@ourfamily.church.

Registration Includes

Jersey, T-shirt, Upward gear, end-of-season gift, and medal.

Space is limited. Registration may close before November 13 if divisions reach capacity.

Player Evaluations

• Dates: November 3 or November 5
• Time: Drop in anytime between 5:30–7:00 PM
• Location: Family Church – Windermere Gym
• All players are encouraged to attend an evaluation, including returning players.
• At least one parent or guardian must attend with their athlete.

Players only need to attend one evaluation date.

Practice & Game Schedules

Practices

• K3–5th grade: One practice per week on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday evenings. Practices are approximately one hour.
• 6th–8th grade: 30-minute practice on Saturdays immediately before their game.

Games

• K3–3rd grade: Games are played on Saturdays.
• 4th–5th grade: Games are played on Friday evenings, with some Saturday games possible.
• 6th–8th grade: Games are played on Saturdays, immediately following their 30-minute practice.

Specific practice days and game times will be provided once teams are formed.

What to Expect

Each season includes:

• 9 practices and 7 games
• Equal playing time using Upward’s unique substitution system
• Bible-based devotions focused on character development
• Volunteer coaches and assistant coaches
• A fun, family-friendly end-of-season celebration
• Game-day concessions that help provide scholarships for families needing financial assistance

Important: All league communication will be sent to the parent/guardian email address and/or cell phone number provided during registration.

Upward Sports focuses on developing the whole athlete — mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially.

At Family Church, our goal goes beyond basketball. We want athletes to improve their skills, build confidence, develop Christ-centered character, and experience a positive environment where every child has an opportunity to play.
